At age 12, Emma Yang watched her grandmother struggle with Alzheimer’s — and decided to do something about it.

She built Timeless, an AI-powered app that helps people with dementia recognise loved ones, remember events, and stay connected. Not for scale. Not for profit. For her grandmother.

Now studying computer science at MIT, Emma continues exploring how machine learning and empathy can coexist — proving that the most powerful algorithms can also be the most gentle.
